- Chairman of Manchester CT Downtown Development Board.
- Energy Conservation: As a national leader and pioneer in the marketing and distribution of energy efficient lighting, Mr. Weinberg served on the national advisory board of North American Philips’s electronic ballast division and advised and executed state utility level programs.
- Marketing: A founder and Vice Chairman of Crossfire Network, Inc. a marketing advisory firm, formed with Richard Haggart, former president of Rubbermaid Sales Division, and James A. Walgreen, Jr. former Walgreen executive, that provided clients with marketing access to prominent names in retail mass marketing. Prior to 1994
Chairman and owner of State Street Technologies, a management company (family office) for his business and real estate holdings, including a national award winning electrical distributor. As a marketing innovator Mr. Weinberg’s firm placed first nationally in major industry publications for “Comprehensive Marketing Programs” along with several first-place national awards for best catalog. As CEO of an industry leading innovator, Mr. Weinberg was honored as one of the 12 “Top Business Strategists and Planners” by vote of the major electrical equipment manufacturers. As the owner of one of America’s most advanced electrical distributors and the largest solely owned business in central Connecticut, KPMG Peat Marwick selected Mr. Weinberg for its “Close-up on Success” Entrepreneur’s Round Table. Mr. Weinberg served as chairman, director and board of governor’s member of numerous corporate, civic and charitable organizations.
As a Founder and Chairman of the Board of Precision Dynamics, Inc., a manufacturer of fluid control products, Mr. Weinberg initiated and negotiated a sale of the company to Brunswick (NYSE), after only six years of exceptionally profitable growth,
As an electrical engineer at Skinner Valve (now Honeywell): Designed solenoid valves and lead R&D on linear induction motors. Mr. Weinberg invented a totally new class of ultra-efficient, pulse-operated, bi-stable, latching, electromagnetic actuators with basic patents issued worldwide. A valve, incorporating this technology and requiring only a momentary electrical pulse to operate, was the subject of a color cover and multi page article in “Design News” magazine.
As the first electrical engineer a Gerber Scientific Instrument: Designed graphical data analysis and transport equipment for space launch graphical data analysis and Soviet nuclear detonation detection.
